Free Tasting: Saturday, Sept 29

Saturday tastings are back strong with these special selections that we’re pouring from 3-6 P.M.

Complimentary Tasting Selections

Piper Heidsieck Brut NV: The holiday season is near and nothing creates a more festive mood than Champagne.  Piper Heidsieck’s latest cuvee is really, really good, in fact, I believe this bottling is the best non-vintage they have produced recently.  You should drop by and taste it, and you will discover a very “friendly” price!

Joseph Drouhin Rully Blanc 2010: Rully is one of the best buys in white Burgundy today. Drouhin has some very long term contracts from some of the best vineyards and their 2010 demonstrates that there are some really interesting wines for very reasonable prices. While this is not a complex as a Puligny Montrachet, it does offer us a lovely example that you will be able to open for any occasion.

Clos de la Roilette Fleurie 2011: Here is one of the most exciting wines we have discovered in the past two years.  It’s always a pleasure to taste a wine from a region that produces something that far exceeds your expectation. Fernand and Alain Coudert’s Fleurie is absolutely delicious to enjoy upon release, but it also very age-worthy, gaining complexity that will reward you if you can lay away a few bottles for the future. You have to come by and sample this Beaujolais to learn what great vineyards and select harvesting can accomplish is a region that is largely overlooked for excellent quality and reasonable pricing.

Joseph Drouhin Chorey les Beaune 2010: We are very pleased with the 2010 vintage in Burgundy, both white and red.  This Chorey, like the Rully, offers you a delicious Burgundy at a excellent price. It has a wonderful aroma of crushed red currants, with good structure and weight it this level.  You can enjoy this today and it will improve over the next three to five years.  This is an excellent red for coq au vin or grilled fish.

We hope to see you Saturday,
