Hopper’s Carte des Vins is a retail wine shop located at 5601 Magazine Street across from Whole Foods. Ric Hopper and Joe Briand have between them over 30 years of experience in the wine industry. Our Goal is simple: For each customer to receive personal service in selecting the right wine, whether it’s for dinner on a Tuesday night or long term cellaring. We strive to select wines that over deliver quality for the price. Our tasting room is small and intimate and a great place for 6-12 people to gather for a wine tasting.
As we prepare to open we wanted to give everyone a tour of space. Many thanks to all the people who helped this project turn out so well. To everyone at Labadot Construction especially Joe and Sean thanks for you follow through and professionalism. We would also like to thank Patrick Dunne and his team at Lucullus for the great antique pieces and helping select colors and decor to make this shop feel like a little piece of France.
I am particularly proud of the tasting room. This will be a great place for small groups to sit and enjoy a focused wine tasting. I’m looking forward to Burgundy tastings, Rhone tastings, horizontal tastings of specific vintages and helping our customers learn the stories and histories behind the wines in their glasses.
Each of these little alcoves will feature wines from the same region. From the entry-level regional wines up to the top rated appellations it will allow our customers to explore the great wine regions and find new favorites. While our selections will be rooted in the old world we will also feature many exciting new world wines from the U.S., Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, and many more. There is no better time in history to be a wine drinker than right now. There are more great wines available today than ever before and we look forward to sharing them with our customers.
The doors open Tuesday June 28th at 10 AM. We look forward to seeing you in the shop. Cheers!
