Join us! We’re fully stocked with wonderful gifts of Magnums and Jeroboams, and we’re hosting a very special tasting this Saturday, Dec. 15: four different Laurent Perrier Champagne cuveés! This Champagne house is the largest family owned business and was founded in 1812. As always, our Saturday tasting is from 3-6 and is complimentary.
While you’re tasting champagnes, we can easily handle your gift needs – nicely presented for friends and family. Have you noticed what fun a Magnum or one of our specially selected Jeroboams (~4 bottles) adds to a celebration? If you want to bring the party with you, come see us.
The following selections are available in limited quantities and are exceptional offerings to enjoy, cellar, or give:
Duckhorn Merlot 2008
Duckhourn Merlot Three Palms 2006
Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Louis Jadot Beaune Beaune Boucherottes 2009
Louis Jadot Corton Pougets 2009
Louis Jadot Clos de Vougeot 2009
We also just received some very special 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape wines. While the prior vintages of 2007 and 2009 were highly praised, we believe the 2010 is the best of the three. These wines are available in limited quantities as well. I am including Robert Parker’s scores to support our claim as we think this vintage is truly great, and will be sold out very shortly.
Raymond Usseglio Chateauneuf du Pape “Cuvee Girard” 2010, Parker 90-92 points
Domaine Ferrand Chateauneuf du Pape 2010, Parker 96+ points
Domaine Charvin Chateauneuf du Pape 2010, Parker 95+ points
La Ferme du Mont Chateauneuf du Pape Vendange 2010, Parker 93 points
La Ferme du Mont Chateauneuf du Pape “Cotes Capelan” 2010, Parker 98 points
We’re pleased to offer Champagne for Saturday’s Tasting
Wine Notes – This Week’s Pours
Laurent Perrier Brut – this is the essence of the house style, a high proportion of Chardonnay, 50%, which provides a freshness and purity along with Pinot Noir, 35%, and Pinot Meunier, 15%, to add body and complexity; this Champagne is truly distinctive and special.
Laurent Perrier Brut Cuveé Rosé – produced with 100% Pinot Noir, which are selected from ten different crus, or villages; elegant and rich, very stylish and festive; the color is extracted from a prolonged maceration prior to making the base wine, then aged for at least four years prior to the release date; a special treat for the holidays.
Laurent Perrier Brut 2002 – this is produced from equal amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; while this drinks beautifully today, it is from a really great vintage which would allow substantial aging for those with patience.
Laurent Perrier Grand Cuveé – same blend as the vintage offering, only from Grand Cru vineyards, this is the grand cuveé of Laurent Perrier; what makes this unique is that it is aged for at least five years before release providing additional complexity and flavors.
Wishing you and your family the best for the holiday season. Hope to see you soon.
